Hi,

Welcome to The Open Call List #103!

In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.

Opening Remarks:
In addition to these weekly newsletters, all paid subscribers have access to additional articles intended to help support putting photowork into the world (via publication and exhibition), finding funding, connecting with curators, and more.

This week I continued to update listings in several of the paid articles. Specifically, I added…

  • One new listing to the Big List of Photobook Publishers

  • One new venue to the Directory of Galleries and Museums that Accept Photography Submissions

  • And one new publications to the Directory of Publications that Accept Photography Submissions

New listings in each article are noted by date. If you are not a paid subscriber, to access these articles in full, see the section below on newsletter subscription pricing.

This week’s Open Call List contains 31 calls for entry, 15 of which offer free submission. The list includes several new calls to exhibit work across the U.S., Europe, and the U.K. It includes many open-ended calls, as well as calls specifically for street portraiture, projects related to place and location, a call for pinhole photography, calls for analog work, small prints, complete portfolios, and more. The list also includes calls for solo exhibition proposals, as well as multiple book publishing awards for previously unpublished projects. Additionally, the list contains one opportunity for museum acquisition, and another that includes the possibility of gallery purchase/collection. Finally, the list also includes many calls that offer grants, awards, and additional financial support for photographic projects, as well as a wide range of opportunities to be published online and in print.

The Jobs section contains new jobs and internships in the photo arts industry, including multiple rolls in darkrooms and film labs, an exhibition photographer position, a role with a non-profit arts organization in the U.K., and many roles at arts and photo-based organizations across the U.S.
