Welcome to The Open Call List #114!

In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.

This week’s Open Call List below contains 33 calls for entry, 20 of which offer free submission. Notably, the list includes three different venues’ calls for solo exhibition proposals, as well as many more opportunities for solo and group exhibitions, including multiple that offer honoraria and financial support to exhibiting artists. The list also includes five distinct calls from photobook publishers for photobook projects seeking publication, all of which include production and financial support for selected projects. Additionally, the list also includes a range of further publication-related opportunities, such as group publications and awards for previously published work. Finally, it includes multiple festival exhibition opportunities, several major grants (ranging up to $50,000), two acquisition awards, a fully-funded residency, calls for alternative process work, and more.

The Jobs section contains new jobs and internships in the photo arts industry, including roles in the U.S., Canada, and U.K. Specifically, the list contains multiple photography assistant positions, internships, positions at galleries, in higher education, at photo studios, as well as at many arts non-profits.
