In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.

This week’s Open Call List contains 37 calls for entry, 21 of which offer free submission. The list includes 15 opportunities for exhibition, including solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, online exhibitions, as well as exhibitions centered around specific genres of photography, such as analog photography, pinhole photography, photography related to home, and more. It also contains 11 opportunities for publication, including in magazines, online, as well as in fully-funded, solo photobooks. The list includes multiple fully-funded photography residencies, grants ranging up to $50,000, opportunities for acquisition, free portfolio review opportunities, and more.
The Jobs section contains new jobs and internships in the photo arts industry, including roles across the U.S. and in the U.K., as well as new hybrid and remote positions.

The Hand Magazine’s Issue #53 (Print Publication) | Deadline: 5/30, Fee: $15-25, Submission: Up to 5 images, Publication Date: Summer 2026. Restriction: This call is open to photographers working with alternative and historic processes.
No-Type’s Monograph No. 1 Open Call | Deadline: 5/31, Fee: $20, Submission: Artist bio, artist statement, 20-30 images from a cohesive body of work, Selection Includes: One artist will have a photobook monograph published by No-Type, with all costs of editing, design, printing, and marketing covered, as well as 20% of the total edition to sell and distribute at their discretion.
