Hi,
Welcome to The Open Call List #15!
In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening remarks:
You may notice a slight difference in newsletter this week — namely, in addition to a particularly deadline-heavy list, there’s an advertisement included below.
As The Open Call List grows, I believe strongly that advertising can both support the newsletter, as well as support artist-friendly businesses in the photo arts industry. The advertisers that will appear in The Open Call List over the coming months are photo-related business with which I have had fantastic first-hand experiences. In this case, that business is Moonphoto Lab in Seattle, Washington!
From 2016-7, Moonphoto processed and scanned my 35mm color film. Ultimately, I had the lab create a series of archival exhibition prints as well. See a few samples of those images, as well as notes on my positive experience working with Moonphoto here.
Please read this note about newsletter pricing:
I make The Open Call List available for free in the spirit of maximizing accessibility in the photo world. That said, I am a one-person team and a fellow artist. If you find the list helpful and you have the means, I ask that you opt in to a pay-what-you-can subscription. Use the links below to access the sliding scale prices:
Subscribe for…
$1/month (or $10/year)
$2/month (or $20/year)
$3/month (or $30/year)
$4/month (or $40/year)
$5/month (or $50/year)
At any amount, paid subscriptions support the time and energy I spend finding, vetting, and sharing open calls every week. Thank you!
