In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening Remarks:
This week’s Open Call List contains 18 calls for entry, seven of which are free to enter! Below are several international competitions and awards, opportunities to exhibit alt-process and photo collage, prizes, fellowships, photography festival exhibitions, several publication opportunities, a New Year’s commission, and more. As always, in the final section are photography-related jobs in the fine arts industry, as well as in academia.

Les Rencontres d’Arles’ Prix Découverte 2025 | Deadline: 11/18, Fee: FREE, Submission: Submissions are made collecting by an artist and representing organization, and include an artist bio, statement of organization, title and information of project, and estimated production budget for exhibition, Award: Two separate projects will be awarded €15,000 and €5,000, respectively, with works from winning projects being acquired into the Rencontres d’Arles collection. Both projects will also receive funding to exhibit at Les Rencontres d’Arles in June 2025.
Silver Eye Center for Photography’s Fellowship 25 (Award + Exhibition) | Deadline: 11/18, Fee $40, Awards: Six awardees will receive cash prizes between $500 and $1,000 as well as production and curatorial support, and all six will be included in Silver Eye’s Fellowship 25 exhibition in Spring 2025, Exhibition Location: Silver Eye Center for Photography, Pittsburgh, PA, USA.
Dek Unu Magazine’s Open Call (Publication) | Deadline: 11/20, Fee: FREE, Submission: 11 Images, CV, project commentary, Publication Includes: Dek Unu publishes one photo-based artist per issue of the magazine, and each issue includes 11 images, as well as accompanying text from the artist.
