Hi,
Welcome to The Open Call List #39!
In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening Remarks:
In October, The Open Call List introduced paid subscriber benefits in the form of monthly, evergreen bonus guides to open calls by category. This week, I created a landing page for all the paid bonus material. If you’re a paid subscriber, you can now use the page to access all paid content moving forward, including the paid content that has previously been sent out. Or, if you’re a free subscriber, you can use it as a place to preview paid subscription benefits. I will keep the landing page up to date as I publish more material for paid subscribers every month. The next bonus guide will be released in early December.
This week’s Open Call List list below contains 20 upcoming deadlines, nine of which offer free submissions. The list contains several new exhibition opportunities, two distinguished portfolio prize opportunities, calls for print publication, book awards, an opportunity to have a photo zine printed for exhibition, contests, a commission, and more. There are also several new jobs at non-profit photo institutions listed in the final section of the newsletter.
Please read this note about newsletter pricing:
I make The Open Call List available for free in the spirit of maximizing accessibility in the photo world. That said, I am a one-person team and a fellow artist. If you find the list helpful and you have the means, I ask that you opt in to a pay-what-you-can subscription. Paid subscribers receive access to a growing collection of ad-free monthly bonus guides. To support the newsletter and receive paid benefits, use the links below to access the sliding scale prices:
Subscribe for…
$2/month (or $20/year)
$3/month (or $30/year)
$4/month (or $40/year)
$5/month (or $50/year)
At any amount, paid subscriptions support the time and energy I spend finding, vetting, and sharing open calls every week. Thank you!
