In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening Remarks:
Last week, The Open Call List’s published its fourth paid subscriber guide: 15 Open Call Photobook Awards and Publishing Prizes. The guide is a list of opportunities for photobook projects at all stages - photobook ideas, books-in-progress, book dummies, as well as published and self-published photobooks. This week’s Open Call List below contains 20 calls for entry, 11 of which offer free submission. The list includes opportunities for exhibition in several renowned festivals and photographic institutions, a portfolio review with a major U.S. print publisher, various photographic awards and photobook awards, a photo residency, several digital exhibition opportunities, and calls for print publication. The jobs section contains includes new internships, full-time positions at arts organizations, and adjacent jobs photographic-oriented jobs.
