Welcome to The Open Call List #64!

In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.

Opening Remarks:
This week, I’ve continued to expand the directory of galleries and museums that accept submissions from photographers for exhibition, representation, and acquisition. I added two new institutions: one gallery and one non-profit photo center. The newest listings are indicated by date added in the directory.

Also, last week, I interviewed a curator at a major photographic institution about topics related to building important connections in a photographic careers, such as considering and preparing for portfolio reviews, initiating studio visits, building relationships with curators, and more. I’m very excited to share the interview soon. Paid subscribers will receive it in full in the coming weeks.

This week’s Open Call List below contains 22 calls for entry, 11 of which offer free submission. The list contains multiple opportunities for museum acquisition, calls for alternative process work, several funded photo residencies in the U.S., Australia, and Japan, calls for exhibition in the U.S. and Europe, photobook awards, photography competitions with cash prizes, and several opportunities for print and digital publication.

The Jobs section contains new roles in the photo arts industry, including positions in Canada, the U.S., and Paris.
