Hi,
Welcome to The Open Call List #68!
In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening Remarks:
This Friday, June 20, I’m excited to publish an audio interview with a curator at a major U.S. photo institution. The interview is specifically meant for photographers seeking career progression and covers topics such as how to approach curators and museums, how to prepare for portfolio reviews and studio visits, and more.
Free subscribers will receive a 5-minute preview, while paid subscribers will receive the full interview (approximately one hour in length). If you are not a paid subscriber, use the links below to become one and to receive the interview in full on Friday morning.

This week’s Open Call List includes 23 calls for entry, including six that offer free submission (and many more with low entry fees). The list includes a variety of publication opportunities including print, digital, and publications with accompanying exhibitions. It also includes a range of calls for exhibition, including calls for analog photography, photobooks, virtual exhibition, alternative process, and more. Additionally, the list includes awards, grants, and major funding opportunities for photographers and researchers, calls for solo exhibition proposals, residencies in the U.S., U.K., and Asia, and more.
The Jobs section contains jobs and internships in the photo arts industry. In particular, this week’s section includes several new opportunities in higher education, as well as darkroom lab tech and various assistant positions.
