Hi,
Welcome to The Open Call List #71!
In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening Remarks:
This weekend, I published a text transcript of the recent long-form interview with photography curator Emmy Mickevicius about important aspects of career development in art photography. The interview is now available in text or in audio format, depending on your preferences. Thanks to readers and listeners for all of the wonderful feedback and comments.
Additionally, yesterday, I added an institution with a current open call to directory of galleries and museums that accept submissions from photographers for exhibition, representation, and acquisition. There are now 46 institutions in the directory. (New additions are indicated in the listings.)
