Hi,
Welcome to The Open Call List #72!
In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening Remarks:
Yesterday, I added two new institutions to directory of galleries and museums that accept submissions from photographers for exhibition, representation, and acquisition. There are now 48 institutions in the directory. (New additions to the directory are indicated in the listings.)
A reminder that my recent interview with photography curator Emmy Mickevicius about important aspects of career development in art photography (e.g. connecting with curators, portfolio reviews, museum acquisitions) is now available both in text and in audio format, depending on your preference. Thanks once more to readers and listeners for all of the wonderful feedback and comments.
