Welcome to The Open Call List #76!
In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening Remarks:
This week’s Open Call List contains 30 calls for entry (the largest list to date!), including 18 that offer free submission. The list includes 16 opportunities that involve exhibition, be it solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, online exhibitions, themed exhibitions, or otherwise. It includes 10 opportunities that include publication in either a photography magazine, exhibition catalog, or virtual publication. Further, this week’s list includes several funded residencies in the U.S. and Europe, awards for zines and photobooks, photography awards and grants up to €35,000, and more.
Finally, the Jobs section includes current job and internship opportunities in the photo arts industry, including at major museums, photo organizations, working for renowned photographic artists, as well as positions in higher education.

ephemere magazine’s “Eroded Forms” (Print Publication) | Deadline: 8/13, Fee: $15, Submission: 4-8 Images, description of process and concept, Selection Includes: Publication in a group publication the release of which coincides with Ephemere Photo Fest in Tokyo, Japan. Restriction: This call is open to photographic where where materials, processes, and environments leave have left traces of impermanence.
Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson’s Creation Award (+ Exhibition) | Deadline: 8/15 (Extended), Fee: FREE, Submission: Project proposal, reference letter, up to 15 photographs, Award Includes: One winning photographer will receive €35,000 to help the winner complete his or her project, as well as support in developing his/her project and curating an exhibition.
