The Open Call List #78
Calls for Entry: August 25 - August 31, 2025
Hi,
Welcome to The Open Call List #78!
In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.
Opening Remarks:
This week’s Open Call List contains 29 calls for entry, 13 of which offer free submission. The list includes 14 opportunities that involve exhibition, including calls for narrative work, alternative processes, juried exhibitions with major monetary awards, solo exhibitions, and more. Additionally, the list includes 11 calls that involve publication in either a zine, photobook, or exhibition catalog, or that offer financial support for photobook publication. Finally, the list includes four funded residencies in the U.S. and Europe, a wide range of photo awards and additional project funding, mentorship opportunities, and more.
The Jobs section contains new jobs and internships in the photo arts industry, including roles at galleries in the U.S. and U.K., with photobook publishers and publications, at non-profit arts organizations and museums, as well as photography-based positions in higher education.
Finally, I’m excited to share that in the next month I’ll publish a piece of bonus material specifically intended to help photographers looking to have their work published in photo-based magazines and similar publications. More information soon and, in the meantime, this is a good reminder to explore the growing archive of bonus material for paid subscribers.
