Welcome to The Open Call List #95!

In this weekly newsletter, I share opportunities for photographers for exhibitions, publications, fellowships, grants, residencies, jobs, and more. My goal is to make the photography world more accessible, especially to emerging artists. While I include both free opportunities and calls for entry with submission fees, I only share opportunities that favor artists.

This week I added four new venues to the Directory of Galleries and Museums That Accept Photography Submissions. All paid subscribers also have access to A Directory of Publications that Accept Photography Submissions, an Interview with a Photography Curator, and much more!

This week’s Open Call List contains 29 calls for entry, 20 of which offer free submission. The list includes four fully-funded photography residencies (Canada, U.S., Northern Europe), three of which include darkroom facilities. The list also includes one call for solo exhibition proposals and one call for photobook proposals. Additionally, it includes exhibition calls for photographic work in a variety of genres, including nude, national parks, black-and-white, travel, winter-related photography, photomontage, car photography, protest photography, as well as several general and open calls. Finally, the list includes a wide range of awards, prizes, and publication opportunities.

The Jobs section contains new jobs and internships in the photographic arts industry, including a new director-level role a major American photographic arts organization, as well as hybrid roles, roles in higher education, and more.
